björk releases visuals for ‘Victimhood’

bjork releases victimhood video

The video debuted at björk’s performance in Lisbon’s Altice Arena on Friday night.

Put together by the directing duo of Gabríela Friðriksdóttir & Pierre-Alain Giraud, ‘Victimhood’ is released alongside an interview between Gabríela and björk in which they discuss the themes and characters explored within the video. Check it out here.

“The song deals with things that I often think about,” Icelandic visual artist Friðriksdóttir says. “It’s about self-pity and how ridiculous you were or how funny you were in a situation, or in a strange place where you had hard times, and then you see yourself. Instead of pointing at somebody else all the time, it’s so nice to rediscover yourself.”

‘Victimhood’ features on Björk’s 2022 album, Fossora, which received a Grammy nomination for Best Alternative Album.
