Jaakko eino kalevi teams up with Alma Jodorowsky on his latest single ‘Palace In My Head,’ and shares dystopian visuals.
Finnish experimental artist Jaakko eino kalevi is back with another gripping release ‘Palace In My Head,’ taken from his forthcoming album Chaos Magic, officially out Friday 17th November via Weird World.
Weaving in disco-pop synths with a melancholic post-punk edge, ‘Palace In My Head’ is a captivating track, to say the least. Neither inherently sad nor boastfully joyous, the single has a distinctive mellowness to it, that makes it almost hypnotic.
Featuring accompanying vocals from French singer Alma Jodorowsky, the track is also helmed by retro-looking visuals directed by Alama. Speaking about the writing process, Jaakko says: “[It] was all very spontaneous and easy. I had an early demo of this for many years on my computer and didn’t know how to finish it. I re-recorded it in the studio and luckily got Alma to help me finish the chorus part. The chorus and verse are from different worlds, in my opinion. The verse is very dramatic and dark and then the chorus is bright and comforting.”
Following a sold-out headline show in London, Jaakko is soon to embark on a UK and European tour this winter.
