I<3UQTINVU will feature re-imagined version of the tracks on the duo’s Mercury Prize-nominated debut, set for release on November 3rd.
The announcement arrives with the hyperactive new track ‘Red Eye’, featuring US artist Ian Starr. ‘Red Eye’s visual accompaniment mirrors the single’s frantic energy, and consists of footage that Jockstrap have accumulated over a busy period of touring.
Babymorocco, Ersatz, Kirin J Callinan and Coby Sey all lend their talents on I<3UQTINVU alongside Starr, who joins Jockstrap on tour later this month.
“Some of these remixes are almost three years old and some are only six months old,” Taylor Skye says of I<3UQTINVU. “I made most of them really quickly, in a day or so. It keeps me sane to do this whilst mixing the album. I don’t really remember making them. It’s like eating too much and then throwing up and this is what comes out. It’s a weird feeling but also really fun. I felt very happy making some of this music and live it will be quite the show.”
Releasing music as Jockstrap since 2018, Georgia Ellery (also of Black Country, New Road fame) and Taylor Skye have seen an upswing in recognition over the past year or so, picking up a Mercury Prize nomination alongside a slot at Glastonbury Festival in the process.
