Following intimate performances in New York and Los Angeles last week, the BROCKHAMPTON leader marks his official return to his solo career.
‘Blanket’, released via Video Sore/RCA Records, sees Abstract crafting a new sonic identity and tone for this next phase of his career. This new single is a fully fledged rock moment, soaked in nineties nostalgia and jam-packed with slick rock production.
Much like some of his previous efforts, solo and with BROCKHAMPTON, Abstract’s flow and delivery is nonchalant, dry, oozing a level of charisma that feels unpredictable, let alone the music itself; it’s almost impossible to forecast Abstract’s next turn, this new single has proven that completely.
Later this autumn, Abstract will be performing at the Tyler, The Creator-curated festival Camp Flog Gnaw in Los Angeles.
