Multifaceted artist yeule expands on their forthcoming album softscars with cathartic single ‘inferno.’

Singaporean songwriter and young trailblazer, yeule, is back weaving sombre electronics with pop sensibilities on their latest offering ‘inferno.’ Expanding on their forthcoming album softscars, ‘inferno’ further explores this highly-anticipated project with intricate synths and raw storytelling.

Over the last few months the artist has dropped four pop-rock-esque numbers from this project. From the nonchalant grunge-inspired ‘sulky baby’ to the alternative pop waves of ‘ghosts’ throughout softscars yeule effortlessly wears their heart on their sleeve with each intricately crafted single.

‘inferno’ is a nonchalant release with emotionally-penned lyrics exploring the interplay and complications of personal relationships. Following on from poppy predecessor ‘ghosts,’ ‘inferno’ transports listeners into the wonderfully technicoloured psyche of yuele’s creative vision.

Having first made waves in the electronic scene with their alternative synth-pop project Serotonin II in 2019, yeule has since expanded their discography with an accumulation of avant-garde releases with conceptual themes. Today the artist is set to kickstart their extensive tour in celebration of the album release with a live set at End of the Road Festival.

softscars is officially out Friday 22nd September via Ninja Tune.
